Futures tracking US equities were muted on Wednesday, holding the sharp decline from the previous session that pressured indices to one-month lows as the US’s aggressive rhetoric on plans to purchase Greenland rekindled a pivot away from dollar-denominated assets. Contracts for the three main averages erased their early respite to hover between small gains and blows. President Trump was due to speak at the World Economic Forum after his administration pressed harder on their urgency to acquire Greenland from Denmark, reaffirming tariff threats on major European economies should they oppose the deal. Broader sectors held recent losses, while most tech giants trailed lower pre-market. Meanwhile, Netflix tanked over 7% before the bell after warning of higher program spending and highlighting the cost of the Warner Bros. Discovery deal. Also, J&J fell 1% despite issuing a higher guidance. On the other hand, United Airlines was due for a stronger open after its results.
