The Euro Area’s current account surplus widened to €46.9 billion in June 2026 from €37.6 billion a year earlier. The primary income surplus, which includes flows such as dividends, wages and direct investment, rose to €15.3 billion from €5 billion. Also, the services surplus rose to €24.1 billion from 22.6 billion. On the other hand, the goods surplus narrowed to €21.5 billion from €23.6 billion and the secondary income deficit increased to €14.1 billion from €13.7 billion. The seasonally adjusted current account surplus increased to €35.1 billion in June from €25.8 billion a month earlier, above market expectations of €22.1 billion.
